Guru Nanak Sikh (VA) Schools Secondary have had a busy year alongside our partner schools in the collaborative. This is the second year of us being in the Extended School programme.

We run a number of activities, which include chess clubs, before and after school breakfast clubs (Ofsted registered), drama, arts and crafts. This is further enhanced with booster classes in the secondary and the primary schools. These are crucial in helping our children learn and do well in their studies.

One of the things we are pleased with is the level of support and interaction we have developed between us and our partners. This has led to us sharing our resources which basically means if one of our partners wants to do an activity to help students, somewhere in the partnership help is available. This benefits everyone. A good example has been the science clubs, mini bus and the cooking activities. More is being planned in the following financial year.

The Extended Schools initiative is an important one and one, which we feel will benefit, young people, parents and the community time goes on. So should you feel as parents or members of the community that we could do more under this initiative then please tell us. This is important and it is with your help that we shall succeed.
